Future ThinkPad X200, SL, T and R Series Configurations
Information about new ThinkPad X200, SL, T and R series notebooks, which Lenovo is preparing for release, has begun to appear on the web.
X200 models will feature 12-inch WXGA screens and magnesium alloy housings. Connecting an external monitor will provide a DisplayPort connector. These Intel Centrino 2 with vPro notebooks will use 45nm Core 2 Duo processors (up to 2.4GHz) and DDR3 memory. Configurations will include up to 64GB SSD, 1.3MP webcam, three USB ports. Declared support for WiMAX (US models), WWAN, GPS, Wi-Fi, UWB, and Bluetooth. X200 notebooks will start at 1.32 kg and will run more than nine hours with a nine-cell battery.
The SL series (pictured) will include the SL300, SL400 and SL500 models, which outwardly differ mainly in screen sizes, which will be 13.3, 14.1 and 15.4 inches, respectively (the resolution in all cases is equal to WXGA, the SL500 model will be also available with WSXGA + panel). These notebooks with Intel Core 2 Duo processors will be equipped with an integrated (Intel GMA 4500MHD) or discrete (NVIDIA GeForce 9300) graphics subsystem. The set of ports will include FireWire, HDMI and at least three USB ports. Expansion options will be provided by an ExpressCard slot. The package will include adapters WWAN, WiMAX, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a GPS receiver. Optional Blu-ray drive available. Maximum DDR2-667MHz Memory – 4GB.
ThinkPad T series notebooks with Intel Centrino 2 with vPro will have 14 “(T400) and 15” (T500) diagonal LED-backlit screens. The maximum clock frequency of the processors will be 2.8 Hz, the volume of the hard drive is 320 GB. Optionally, it will be possible to install an SSD up to 64 GB. The graphics subsystem of these laptops will have 512MB of memory and an ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 GPU.
ThinkPad R series to combine R400 (14.1 “screen) and R500 (15.4” diagonal screen). The maximum hard drive capacity of these models will be 320 GB, RAM – 4 GB DDR3. The graphics subsystem can be either integrated (Intel GMA 4500MHD) or discrete (ATI Mobility Radeon 3470). Laptops will receive three USB ports and one FireWire. Expansion card slot dedicated to ExpressCard.
