The need for mobile computers that can withstand the hardships of field life and have greater autonomy exists in many areas of human activity. Panasonic decided to offer such a product that takes advantage of the recently introduced Intel Atom processor, which has a new model of the Toughbook family. The company itself calls the Panasonic Toughbook CF-U1 model the first UMPC in the strengthened version based on Intel Atom.
Among the advantages of the Toughbook CF-U1, the company attributes support for Windows XP and Windows Vista, the presence of a full-fledged backlit keyboard and a screen that is well readable even in sunlight. Mobile PC withstands drops of up to 1.2m and supports hot swappable battery. The manufacturer notes the presence of wireless Wi-Fi connections (802.11 a / b / g / draft-n) and Bluetooth, optional – 3G and GPS (SiRFstarIII).
