Otherwise, you might open your Internet Options, on the Connections tab click LAN Settings, and make sure no invalid proxy is configured. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. If you made no changes, I’d think that it’s not a problem on your computer. But to be sure, you could also restore back to the day before the problem started, and see what occurs.

You can undo the restore if you don’t like the results or it doesn’t help, so to test it just takes nothing more than about 5 minutes. That box applies to much more than just Internet Explorer and can cause connection issues. If you want to try to restore to the date prior and see if it makes any difference, you can use these steps:. This works best if you use it immediately after a problem shows up.

Waiting more than a week or two means the good backups can be too outdated to use. None of the boxes are checked on the settings page. It’s much less drastic than hitting the “Reset” button below that, but that may also work.

Do you have any firewall service or tool that might need to be opened up to allow OneDrive to connect? How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. In reply to CmdrKeene’s post on December 28, I’ve been having the same problem as Amelia Mack.

Except I had SkyDrive OneDrive installed for the past few years on Vista, and it was working perfectly until just the past couple weeks, when I suddenly started getting the same error message she described above.

Since that problem appeared, I’ve tried re-installing OneDrive a few times, but I still get that same error: “There was a problem connecting to OneDrive, Check your internet connection and then try again”.

My Internet connection is fine, and no proxy is configured. So what do I need to do to make OneDrive sync again as it used to do? Was there some change at Microsoft’s end that would have caused this malfunction, or if there has not been such an action, then what do I need to do to my computer to restore that OneDrive functionality?

In reply to DavidSchulte’s post on January 17, Choose a date when the computer was working correctly, and click Next to restore the system files from that date. Check to see if the problem is fixed. If not, you can go back to step 1 to either undo the restore process, or try another date.

System Restore can undo recent changes to the system, without affecting your personal files. In reply to CmdrKeene’s post on January 19, In reply to davefraser’s post on February 13, I have just come across the same problem.
