Times Square to install 12,000,000 LED screen
Walgreen has begun installing an enormous signage, essentially an LED screen, on the walls of a mall located in one of New York’s most famous and colorful neighborhoods. The intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue, better known as Times Square, is already one of the symbols of the city – theaters and cinemas, restaurants, hotels, shops are located here. According to the organizers of the project, the new screen “will improve the visibility (of the Walgreen store) in New York” and will become a “focal point for the company on a national scale.”.
The design is striking in scale – it is planned to use 12 million colored LEDs, which will occupy an area of approximately 1,500 square meters.m. and will allow you to form multi-color, moving images. The brightness of the LEDs allegedly will make ads visible even on a sunny afternoon. Walgreen estimates 1.6 million people will be able to see images on the new screen, which encircles the three walls of the building.
